Dima picked us up in the city and took us to his home at the seaside. Great location for swimming, garden with fruits, amazing dog. Thank you Dima!

I had a great time hosting Martin for only one night. He shared some family cooking, which was delicious, and he was very polite. He took a keen interest in my life and wanted to learn about me. He's certainly intelligent, and knows a lot about humanity and cultures. You could easily spend many many hours conversating with Martin. Thanks for visiting :)

Alan accepted my request after a couple of minutes. A very friendly person, flexible, kept me updated about his schedule. We had an engaging conversation over dinner, I slept very well, woke up after 10 hours greatly refreshed. A very nice, central location, next to subway. Thanks again!

Martin !!! He's an amazing guest and an ocean of knowledge if you want to call this individual. Speaks Marathi better than anyone I know, amazing musician and a kind kind gentleman. We got the chance to move around the city, go to the farm and record some music at the studio. It's fun and it's learning and it's what we're all here for I guess. We still have some things to do and I'm sure we will before his departure from the city. Brother for life ! Cheers )

I ended up staying with Rohit and his family for more than one week. I had a slight cold when I arrived and Rohit took great care of me, like my family would. But the care did not stop when I was better and I felt home and was very comfortable in the house. Rohit is extremely friendly and polite, I hung out with him and his friends, one of the best parts was a visit to his farm house, a beautiful and quite place which looks like a botanical garden. Hope we'll meet once more before I leave India! All the best, thanks!

Martin stayed with us for two weeks. Intelligent, hardworking, soft spoken person. He has a good appetite for learning. Especially for learning the languages. He is not learning the language for the sake of simple communication. He tries to get in depth knowledge of the language by understanding the dialects, pronunciation, poetry, writing skills, etc. It was fun to understand the process and to be a part of little bit teaching.

He showed interest to see my daughter's school and visited there. Met the school children and the teachers. Also he met my relatives and friends.

Best wishes to him.

My stay by Manoj and his family was long, and very pleasant and memorable. I became a part of the family for almost two weeks, took part in the activities, enjoyed amazing culinary skills of Manoj's wife Rina, and profited from Marathi language couching by all members of the family. I am indebted for all that and I am looking forward to meeting them again before I leave Pune! Thanks! धन्यावाद!

Martin the cool physicist. I invited him for a traditional lunch at my place as I couldn't host him. Martin comes on an awesome royal Enfield and speaks marathi just like one of us. It was nice engaging in a conversation about love and arrange marriage (tautology :p).
It was nice to discuss different topics with him. He is sweet and mixes well with everyone. My mom had a great time speaking to him in marathi.
Hope to see you somewhere sometime soon.

Yakuta

When we could not meet as a guest and host, Yakuta quickly suggested a date for a meet-up. We spent a nice afternoon together, she invited me and her friend for an amazing traditional lunch. I admired her painting skills, she is really good at it (among others, she put a part of what should be her couchsurfing profile on the wall of her room, in a very interesting way, but I'll leave it for her future guests to discover).

Martin is one of those rare old school couch surfing user gems with good values and qualities. He added to the fun mix of couch surfers i was hosting at the time and to the dinner i hosted with some human rights class mates. Martin adds an extra good vibe to the house with his up-beat personality and insightful perspective. Would say for sure he is solution driven. I highly recommend hm! Thanks for bringing CzechIA chocolate and sharing your travel experiences. Good luck with the rest of your post-doc in India!

Upon my arrival, Ahhie was waiting with dinner that he cooked for me and his summer school mates. Very nice house and friendly company, we had some interesting discussions. Ahhie responded very quickly to messages, was very helpful, thoughtful and flexible when I changed my plans a couple of times. I recommend his place anyone, who wants to experience a friendly, relaxed and fun atmosphere. All in all, I had a very good rest and a lot of fun in Zurich.

Martin is a lovely person. Not only mixed well with my friends, he also impressed them with his 'Marathi' ( my mother tongue). He is interested in various things and he already has various invitations from my friend circle to attend some events. I would love to host him and his wife sometime soon.
God Bless
Ashwini and Prasad

My stay with Prasad and his family was very memorable. Besides the great care they took of me at their home, it happened that I came at a time when for three consecutive days I had the possibility to take part in an marvelous comprehensive program of social events at various places, with great Indian food being an inseparable part of it. They were helpfully supporting my Marathi learning endeavour. I am indebted and thankful for that experience. Nice and friendly people. We'll keep in touch, good luck!

Martin is a wonderful wonderful guest!
I hosted him for the weekend and we had interesting conversations on travel, his experiences in India and life in Europe. For a European guy, his knowledge on Marathi is jaw dropping and I was happy to give him some lessons and clear his doubts. He's extremely well mannered, very flexible, well spoken and has a contagious smile which I believe will take him a long way. He kept me posted on his arrivals and plans so it was definitely an easy going and memorable experience to host him. I hope I get to see him again before he leaves India for good. Much love and best wishes for all your future endeavors Martin :)

Saket saved me, without exaggeration. He took care of me as my family would do. I arrived with a severe back pain, and he helped me out by giving up his soft bed, applying his magical painkiller spray and doing many other things, which made me heal and recover over the weekend . But I am immensely grateful also for other aspects, which made my stay so comfortable a pleasant. He is very friendly, which was clear from the beginning of our chat on whatsapp, and even more during our first phone call and then finally meeting in person. And he know his spices, the chicken was great!

Martin was to surf at my home for two nights but due to some urgent work he had to change the plan and could stay for one night.
As he is also from the same profession like me ( researcher ) we could talk about science. I was impressed with his ability to understand and speak quite good Marathi. We communicated in Marathi. He is decent, fun loving guy. Martin I look forward to meet you again ( may be with your wife) during our Ganapati Festival at our home and /or for a hang out.

I enjoyed my stay at Prasad's comfortable home. He invited me even though he and his wife (both very nice and friendly) were celebrating their marriage anniversary with their friends. We had very nice food and interesting conversation. I was taken care of very well, everything went smoothly and I had a good rest before jumping to the next day. Thank you!

I meet Martin and her Wife both are down to earth. There is a lot to learn from both where they have a lot of experience to share and to apply in our life to live a happy life. We had meet a lot of time everything in Pune to meet Martin was great expreience where he thinks all people are at one level to live with them to hear thier stories and guide them to live it. A great human being and a great man for her wife very careing and joyful nature fun loveing person good to have a friend like you Martin hope we could meet again thank you😊

He has a smile that never seems to go away. I have never seen anyone smile so bright before. He is Intelligent (very much so.... Does this weird mathematical shit on his laptop all the time... He has a weird Mars Laptop.. I don't know where he got something like that..)..
He has SuperHuman resistance to cold and is very patient and understanding with everyone. Very Polite and Happy Soul. :)

Very good friend, honest, responsible, caring. Has a pretty motorbike and trusted me enough to let me drive it. He is not shy to say directly what he thinks and notices about my and my wife's behavior. This way we were able to learn quickly many things from Indian culture. It's fun with him. He is a very competent student of German and teacher of Marathi. I recommend him without restriction:-)

Martin and Elena stayed with us one night. They are very open minded friendly and knowledgeable. It was great experience hosting them. My brother in law( Kuriachan) , nephew (Thennal) and friend Vishnu were with us. Though we could not offer them much for food , they were very contented . I would love to host them again and recommend them.

After we left the house of Prakash's family, we immediately agreed with my wife that these were the loveliest people we met through couchsurfing. We arrived late and left very early in the morning, yet we were utmost happy to have managed to visit Prakash for such a short time. We felt so relaxed, welcome, taken care of. We are immensely grateful and will definitely come back, if we ever come to Kerala again. Our big thanks for the wonderful experience.

He is good

Martin Bures is an excellent personality with research mind. Also having a posoitive attitude towards CS members. I enjoyed his friendship company very much. Dr. Kumar Trivandrum, Kerala

Dr. Kumar very kindly picked us at our place in Kovalam, showed us around Trivandrum and gave us both a full-body massage. We are very grateful, all the best!

Really nice guy! Him, and Elena as well, they were my first couchs at home, and I'm really glad about having hosted them. Nice experience and live learning with them!
Cheers!

Miquel

Very memorable stay, Miquel is immensely friendly and helpful, he lives on a nice square, centrally. I enjoyed very much our evening walk to the castle!! Best regards from me and Elena!

I hosted Martin and his girlfriend for a weekend and we had a great time around Granada! They are completely flexible and don't mind to be on their own, but also always up if there is a good plan. We had the chance to have an amazing pizza in a hidden cave and went for a nice hike around Granada`s woods. They are very knowledgeable about many topics and curious about life. Completely recommended! Buena suerte :)

Thanks to Rafa, me and my wife had a wonderful and thorough experience of Granada. We spent a lot of time together, we visited interesting places, both in and outside of Granada, we took a bath in a fountain, went to amazing waterfalls. He cooked for us in his apartment which is cozy and centrally located. Great time, thank you! :-)

I'm glad I hosted Martin and his wife, they are very interesting people we share a good meal with others 2 surfers, I was happy to share ideas with both of them and I was pleased about the questions they have about my documentary project. They are very calm and organized (thanks for arrange the flayers on the table) I wish them the best!

Martin and his girlfriend Elena are nice people. They are easygoing and they showed interest for learning the languaje, culture and tasting mexican food. I wish you all the best guys and I hope to see you again!

Thanks, Stephanie, that you were so flexible with our flexible arrival and departure time:-) We hung out and cooked together (great Mexican food), Stephanie was also very helpful with some organizational stuff of our stay in Tarragona (parking our car, etc.). Her house is situated in the old center of Tarragona, a very pleasant place.

FIRU86 (❤️ host a CS) 20 January 2016

Martin and Elena were our first couchsurfers and they were wonderful guests. Apart from speaking excellent German they were easy to talk to and had a lot of interesting things to tell. Even though their stay was brief, it was a pleasure to have them. Would definitely recommend!

Annika was very flexible with the date of our visit, which changed several times, we were very grateful for that. Very warm and friendly welcome. Despite the limited time we had at our disposal, we had an interesting conversation. Recommended!

Martin is an extremly friendy person and always good for a nice talk. It's really interesting to talk about his passions and travel experiences :) He's thoughtful and keen to see the city, a great (and our first!) couchsurfing-guest ;)

Nathalie and her boyfriend Thore kindly hosted me in their house, even two times, we had dinner together, we went out to the Christmas market, we discussed, we had a party, it was fun. Nice and helpful hosts, thoughtful and caring about guests. Thank you! :-)

Martin spent the evening and slept at my place, we carried out a nice talk, he is really experienced in scientific stuff, it is his specially :) , he is very polite and easy going ... i diffidently recommend him ... you should meet this scientist if you are a physicist or interested in space missions, ... he brought a bar of chocolate from his country to say thank you, that was nice behaviour, ... oh by the way, this multicultural guy has enough experience to treat you the way you deserve and enough languages to talk to you in a language that you know wherever you are from if you speak something widely known >>> hope to meet him once in Hamburg or in Czech republic .

Martin has an amazing personality and he is very very friendly.Even in my first meeting with him, it was a very warm conversation and it felt like we knew each other already. he makes you feel very comfortable and I am so glad to have met him and hope to meet him again. God's best to you Martin!!Bon courage :)

Very warm, friendly, welcoming person, one always feels relaxed and revitalized after meeting him. Good luck to you, Venkat!

Several stays CS, all as nice as each other. Just because Martin is a great guy, very friendly and open. Martin is interested by many things and is able to manage all situations. Appreciated by all for his kindness. Moreover, in addition to being a good cooker... is a nice guitarist and a good singer.

I met with Martin on a trip to Lake Baikal in 2009. This amazing person combines and gumanitrrnye and technical ability. He knows 7 languages and is fluent in the native language of all participants in the Baikal trip. In this case, his education theoretical physicist, and this, believe me, one of the most difficult parts of physics!

I met Michael a couple of years ago, he was one of the two main organizers of our trip to lake Baikal. As he had a lot of travel experience, he did a very nice job, I am wondering until now how he managed to keep our 30-head group of different people stay together for almost two weeks.

After 4 years we met again in Voronezh and I found out he was, as well as me, a part of two big communities which mean a lot in my life - AEGEE and Couchsurfing. He invited me to a party, gave me again a lot of advice and did not worry to lend me his awesome bicycle. Thanks Миша.

Martin mentioned in his request my best friend Johannes and therefore his visit stood in the 'shadow' of this circumstance but I think he is strong enough to convince his future potential hosts with his elan and with his very impressive 5 years on CS.

Such a great and interesting person. I've met lot of people on this page but ... never openminded and interested in so many things as Martin ... He travelled all the world around, learn all languages even ... Esperanto ..., knows Russian, German, Chinese, French, Italian ... unbelievable

If you want to meet somebody very special, cultured, literate, and with perfect education don't miss Martin.

If you like history, you must meet Pierre. If you don't like history, you must visit Pierre anyway. Because: If you like friendly people and nice conversations, you must visit Pierre. If you like good food, visit Pierre. If you like nice views from the balcony (especially brushing your teeth on a fresh morning is cool), visit Pierre. If you like Esperanto, don't mention it to Pierre:-) Or maybe yes, if there is more like me, perhaps he will change his opinion and join us:-)

Simply put, there is no chance not to enjoy your stay in Marseille if you choose Pierre. Pierre, thanks for nice dinners and discussions which I genuinely enjoyed, good luck to you!

Martin surfed my place at a very interesting moment, when I was under a lot of stress and working a lot. And yet, we managed to have some very interesting conversations and vegetarian dinners.

He opened my eyes to techniques regarding work, avoiding procastination and others. He's a very cool guy and knowledgeable... with loads of interesting theories and stuff... a bit of a 'crazy scientist' :D

Wish u the best, man... see ya in Rome this summer.

Martin, some other couchsurfers and I went to the Calanques together!
It was nice to discover Martin in this landscape, because he had a lot of interesst for this place.
Martin likes to walk, loves nature, and he can explain to you a lot of thinks about physique and physique cantique.
He speaks very well french and german, and he's very smily guy, so don't miss to meet him :-)

Cyprien has the precious gift to make people do things that they thought they would never do - the girls had full trust in him and did some climbing for the first time in their life. Cyp organized for us a wonderful hiking day, he is very friendly, very polite, good story teller, it was a pleasure to meet him!

Very good experience for my first host.
Martin is very polite, helpful, calm and have a big knowledge...interested to hear about you. He speaks a better french like me ;)
In one sentence : the perfect guest to host.
Martin, we stay in contact for GR20 !
PS : ask him about the polysphasic sleep...interesting :)

Also for me was my first couch in Marseille a very memorable experience, I enjoyed talking to Mederic very much. He introduced me to some things I was only vaguely familiar with and which I would like to know better one day. I will be very glad if we manage to pursue our plan to undertake the GR 20 to a successful completion, and I am sure it will pay off. Thanks for hosting me, Mederic!

J'ai reçu Martin une nuit, une expérience très sympathique bien que très courte

C'est un jeune homme très discret et très bien éduqué. Nous avons échangé des propos très enrichissants sur son pays et ses études .
Annie Landreau

Annie is a kind, polite and agreeable lady, prepared to help by advice and deed. She has very cultivated manners, is generous and my stay in her house was very pleasant. Thank you for being such a nice host, Annie!

AMAYA3 (❤️ host a CS) 05 October 2012

Martin is an amazing guy! Bright, friendly, smiling, charming, easygoing...You can only feel under its spell!!! (is it correct?)
You're welcome here Martin! You're right, it does'nt happen everytime to feel so good with an unknown! Thanks to you.

It rarely happens but when it does, it is very pleasant. Despite it was my first visit by Muriel, I was welcomed as an old friend and I felt incredibly good from the very first moment I entered her house. I was served an excellent dinner and had a great and relaxed conversation with her and her family. Muriel also provided me with invaluable help while I was organizing my next day early-morning's departure to the airport. Definitely one of my best CS-hosts!

Martin is super nice, smart, friendly, and fun. I had always a great time to hang out with him.

TABUNET (❤️ host a CS) 17 September 2012

Recommend Martin as a very correct, kind and pleasant person to talk with!

A close friend of my girlfriend, open, friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, helpful!

I hosted Martin for just one night and we spent just a bit time together however I must say that he is very intelligent, social and funny person. And he knows more languages than I do:) How come?!!!:):):)
Martin you are always welcome to visit Cracow again.

Martin took time out of his extremely busy schedule to meet me in Prague. He also let me use his room in Brno while he was away.

He is involved in a number of interesting activities and we have a common interest in Esperanto. Hopefully we will have a chance to meet again and get to know each other better.

Dankon pro la helpo. Ĝis la proxima fojo.

Due to tight schedule and many changes in my plans I had to improvise while hosting Eddy (eventually I had to leave Brno during the time when he was there) and I must appreciate that he was really understanding. But we met one day before in Prague during my conference and we had a very pleasant conversation, I am indeed glad that we managed to come toghether.

Martin is a very open and interesting person, full of kindess and willing to get know people around him well :) There are numerous topics to talk about with him, I found him as one of the nicest person met thanks to CS :)!

My stay by Ola was exactly the way I prefer my couchsurfing experience to be. Although I spend with her less then one day, we managed to attend a very enjoyable home party, we had a dancing evening/night at a disco, night sightseeing, morning bike-trip and very pleasant and engaging conversation. As someone wrote to Ola's profile, it is impossible not to like her.

Thank you Martin for this wonderful weekend on Gozo - I will never forget this incredible expedition through Mistra's rocks. I wish you the best for your life and you are welcome to Belgium :) Bonne ŝancon!

Sophie is a travel fellow, I would wish everyone to have. A trustworthy and easy-going companion. It was very pleasant and easy to organize our biking trip with her and I had a really nice time. She agreed even to my crazy idea that everybody from the locals was trying to discourage us from – going to the Mistra rock formation, a labyrinth of dangerous paths, trenches and sharp rocks – eventually it was Sophie who felt my desire to go there and who made the decision. Thanks for your company!

Martin was my second host by CS. He's very nice, optimist, helpful, intelligent, smiling all the time:) Also he's amazing, hardworking person with a passion who inspired me to change my habits:) He provide me of that everything is possible if you really want this:)Thank you Martin, meeting with you was a very voluable experience for me.

Very cheerful person, polite guest and nice companion. It was a pleasure to have Basia over for one day. It was her first or second cs experience and she was very curious about the community, posing questions regarding customs in couchsurfing.

Martin is a very intelligent and nice person. He can talk about science, arts and languages.

I spent one week in Malta and the two days by Mario were especially memorable. With the help of his bicycle, meals, relaxed atmosphere of his place and many pieces of advise, I felt prepared to undertake two beautiful trips. I must say I love his house, his books and his care for guests. And although I don't have (YET:-) the sense of classical music, it honestly felt like coming to a paradise, when I was coming back tired from a trip and there was music filling the air in every corner of his house. Before coming back, Mario always wrote me “Come hungry:-)”. I was hosting at my place just after I came back from Malta and I incorporated Mario's sentence into the messages for my guests:-)

the only person able to speack ESPERANTO that i met in my life!!! wow

We arrived at Fileo's place, received directions, maps of Cagliari and keys from the flat. We came on Easter Sunday and were hungrily looking for an open restaurant or a supermarket. However, everything was closed. But Fileo had the keys!:-) (His cousin owns a small store.) Fileo also took us by car for a wonderful trip to Villasimius, including excursion to the city center, amazing Easter lunch with Sardinian food at his friend's place and a trip to a charming beach with an Easter nap.

DENIS_P (❤️ host a CS) 30 January 2012

I hosted Martin and his girlfriend one night in my home town Amberg. It was very nice spending one evening und talking with them.

Our stay by Denis was very pleasant and utmost comfortable! He showed us around the cute Altstadt of Amberg and provided us with wonderful hospitality - he took care about everything we might have possibly needed, thanks so much!

Martin is a cool guy who easily can speak russian:) He can tell a lot of interesting and challenging stories about his experince in CS and his travellings. He gave us some useful advices and a lot of positive energy:) Martin is a very interesting, positive, funny and helpful person.
We will never forgot this morning with you and another 2 Martines:)
Wellcom in Tomsk! Ann and Maria!

Anna and her friend Maria asked me for help, when they were preparing for they visit of Czech Republic. Eventually we also met personally, they are both very friendly, talkative and polite. Thank you for the present, I'll be delighted to have the possibility to bring you one from me to Tomsk one day:-)

Martin stayed 2night in Regensburg (one alone and one with his girlfriend). They are both really really nice. It was a pleasure to host him and they are warmly welcome everytime again!!!

Thank you very much again for the nice meal you both cooked for me! Was a pleasure to meet you.

Except for enjoying the city so much, we were very glad to find such a helpful and nice host as Barbara! She cooked great dinner, made for us a wonderful guided tour through the city and took us to a salsa party. But what I admired and appreciated the most were those many “little” things she did which were so helpful, staring from lending me her camera when I told her I lost mine recently and ending with preparing a dinner-package while I was in a big hurry packing my backpack, after I had to change my departure time very suddenly.

We cooperated on a couple of university projects nad also met in a course of Mandarin Chinese for beginners :) I remember Martin as a responsible, polite and friendly person with interest in Chinese language and travelling. Although we have never travelled together, I am sure he is a good and experienced travel buddy as well as kind guest or host.

Nu, mi ne ankoraux bone konas Martin, sed ni ludis kune en malgranda teatrajxo dum la IJK 2011 kaj sekvis la kurson por progresantoj. :)
Li estas bona gitarludanto.

The dance during the IJK in Kiev was a really pleasant and funny activity, we had a lot of fun with Mike and other participants. Recently, I had to look on the pictures again, yes, yes, la tempo somera...:-)

I can only use one word to describe Martin that is 'awesome“!He is our big brother in Czech Republic. He is very kind and helpful.Very very nice and polite! He can write Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting well. I really appreciate he likes China so much! And wish he would go back to China to visit us someday in the future. Oh, BTW, he is good at making cake too :)

Well, I must confess I liked my cake too:-) Otherwise, my cooking skills are still quite poor. But this is definitely not the case of Shuangping! She is an excellent cook, I was invited many times for dinner with her friends and I truly enjoyed it, as I love Chinese food. Shuangping is also a great musician and an teacher - she helped me with improving my skills in Chinese calligraphy - I have to express my gratitude for her patience. By now, I have known her for quite a while and I am sure I would like our friendship to continue further, even though we are not living in the same city any more.

Martin was my first guest through couch surfing (although he didn't actually sleep here). We had a good time eating dinner and then walking around Lund (the grand tour). Martin is very friendly and talkative and knows a lot of things on various topics. And his swedish is amazing!

I was very positively surprised that Tove, even though the current circumstances didn't make it easy for her to host, still came up with a solution and spared no effort to help me, I really appreciate that. She made a delicious dinner and showed me around the evening Lund about which she is able to narrate in a very exciting way. Don't hesitate to contact her, she a very very nice, friendly and reliable host&guide!

Martin is a perfect couchsurfer. Easy to talk to and positive. Do not hesitate to host him if you get a couch request from Martin, he is the kind of guest that is a pleasure to have.

Martin was a pleasure to host, an easy going and relaxed guest with several interesting stories. Time just flew by as our conversation covered everything from food to the science of bathroom door locks. I'd happily host him again.

When I arrived at Emma's place, she had already cooked a magnificent meal. She is energetic, talkative, speaks brilliant English. We had a long and agreeable conversation during and after dinner. It is really pleasant and relaxing to be in her company, she is a very considerate and attentive host.

Martin is a great person with an awesome personality and a great conversationist. He collects pictures of statues of Adam Mickiewicz, and not only..;) Martin speaks incredibly good in Polish! :D It's a pity we couldn't spend more time together. But I'm glad that I managed to train station and I can say goodbye to you :) It would be so nice to see you again in Gliwice or in the other part of the world. Hope you enjoyed Gliwice!!! Lucky those people who know him :)
Ps.The chocolate was delicious and Kozel, of course, also ;)

Martin is a open-minded guy, who travel a lot. We had pleasure to host him one night in Gliwice and that was fun and interesting meeting. Martin was talking about czech culture and about languages (he speaks in esperanto!:). Besides he know a lot about country which he arrived. So, Martin good luck and maybe see you in Brno or once more in Gliwice - 'cała przyjemność po naszej stronie':)

Martin is a perfect man! Always has nice chat with him. I'm so happy that I can meet some one who really like and appreciate chinese culture. Best of Best!

Xiao Xiao is a very friendly girl and also a remarkable and patient teacher of Chinese. She taught me a lot on a train journey from L.A. to Brno (did you know that you can go all way from L.A. to Brno?:-)

Martin is the most awesome Czech friend i have here. He knows so many things and traveled so many places, but still curious and eager to learn more and more. I fully respect him and he always makes me feel i'm respected.

I met Hanwei as a tutor of incoming students to Masaryk University. It has always been fun to spend time with her, she is smiling and full of positive energy. And she is an excellent cook! If you like Chinese food, get to know her! :-)

I'm awesomely impressed by him, his personalities, positive energy and the attitude towards learning! He is both a great teacher and a diligent student; I enjoy learning Czech from him and teaching him Chinese. He inspires me a lot by his attitude, his lifestyle and his travelling spirit! For me, knowing him is a gift in my Erasmus life in Brno. :)

For a couple of months I've been teaching Mendy Czech and she has been helping me to pick up some Chinese. She is a diligent student, devoted to her goals in Czech - I'm very happy about the progress she made! She is very polite, friendly and reliable, I enjoyed the time we spent together very much. Mendy I'm so glad you managed to pronounce the 'ř'! Good job, you can be proud of yourself!

martin is very friendly, kind and open-minded person, always smiling and ready to help. he is also very intelligent, which makes him a great person to talk to - he can cover myriad of topic /in quite a few languages, too/, but i always like his travel stories best:).

The first words I have to reach for when describing Milka are definitely politeness, helpfulness and kindness. Her character is one of those everybody likes and I guess it is impossible to withstand her friendliness and not to became friends with her. I am immensely glad to have her as a friend and university colleague.

Martin is great and he speaks esperanto (most of you do not).

Samuel is my most advanced student of Czech language:-)

Even after 6 months of meeting Martin, I can still remember him so well because he impressed me with his attitudes towards life and learning, enthusiasm about languages and travel, and a great mind knowing how to enjoy life while kept himself extremely busy :) He has such a passion for physics and languages and the most important, he is so gifted!

I really enjoyed his company last summer! I wish you all the best for your travel, study, and learning. I know Learning never ends for you :)

Best wishes from Haochen!

Haochen was a magnificent guide in the Capital Museum in Beijing, I claim in all sincerity that I can hardly imagine a better one. I hugely enjoyed the company of this highly intelligent, kind and generous girl. We went for some meals together, finally I had the possibility to taste the Beijing duck, on the top of it in a very pleasant restaurant which she had chosen. Haochen also helped me a lot when I was looking for ballroom dancing equipment. And I must say that she is really modest, as mentioned in the previous reference, her English is excellent, definitely not intermediate. She the kind of person I'd like to keep in touch with and whom I would like to meet again in future. Haochen, thanks to you, 我最喜欢的水果是荔枝!:-) Good luck!

SLAMIENKA (❤️ host a CS) 19 February 2011

A nice guy, would host him again :)

Katka saved me from a sleepless night by providing me with an emergency couch during a long journey, on my way back from Russia. She was very kind and easy-going despite of the fact that I deprived her from sleeping in the late evening, when I arrived, and the early morning, when I left:-) I appreciate it very much, Katka, my couch is always available for you! Her dog is really very friendly and well behaved:-)

MYRKIM (❤️ host a CS) 21 January 2011

GOULO (❤️ host a CS) 08 January 2011

Martin and Elena had a brief overnight stay with us during a longer journey. They are both very nice, friendly, thoughtful, low-maintenance guests, and it was a pleasure to meet them and chat with them.

Krom tio, Martin lernas Esperanton, do mi esperas revidi lin dum UK, IJK, JES, SES, aŭ simile. :)

We were looking forward to meeting Russ and Anna, they were my first Esperanto-speaking hosts and I was very curious. I'm glad I chose them, they turned out to be wery interesting people. They were also very helpful, we were provided with maps and facts about present and historical city of Wroclaw, hence we were well equipped for our evening sightseeing. I wish our stay was longer, thank you for the quick and detailed answers to my messages and your
hospitality, dankon!

Martin and Lena were my first surfers ever and I am glad that this first experience happened with them. They are both very bright and optimistic people, true couchsurfers and life explores. Although they happened to come in a hard time of my life (I´m struggling with a thesis and lack of time for it), they were very understandable and easy people to live with. And Martin, you should change your Russian to an expert level, it´s great!:)

Marina was recommended to me from a common friend. Although she had Coffee or a drink in her profile, she agreed to host us during the last pre-Christmas weekend. She was responding my questions regarding our arrival very promptly and in a great detail. She did her best to made ourselves at home and provided us with a haven of rest before and after our invasions to the city. Thank you and good luck with the thesis!

what can i say about this guy? he is a scientist! lol. he has a special personality which makes you always want to go after your dreams and acquire your dream life style. he is awesome! even though he is a bad joke teller, lol, he really values the friendship and he is that kind of friend you will never ever regret making!!

Martin is the frist couchsurfing we had hosted. At the beginning,We are not prepared to accept male stay with us. But last weekend, we host Martin for his emergency couch. He is so nice gentleman who I fully trusted to stay with us.
I appreciate his smart. He can clearly remember him through the each road, each station, and the Chinese word which we teach him.
Thank you for helping us back our thing from Carrefour.
Hope see you again.

Liuru and her roommate Xuan Gong hosted me during the final stage of my summer stay in China. They are excellent hosts, friendly and positive people, I'm so grateful for all the help and advice they gave me! I had a lot of fun in their company, we were discussing many things and also cooking together. Moreover, they very kindly helped me to get orientated while choosing the right food for my way back home:-) Shortly, I spend a great time as their guest. P.S. Thank you for the beautiful map of the Summer Palace in Beijing, it has been hanging on a distinguished place in my room ever since!:-)

Martin is smart guy. we met several times on Chinese-learning. i really had wonderful time with him. and i do wish to meet him again in the near future.

My dear great and always smiling teacher! I must recall that I was soooo surprised, after having written a message where I asked you to meet and noted my interest in Chinese language, that you suggested in your answer regular meetings. Then, we were indeed meeting regularly till the end of my stay in Beijing. Chu Chu also introduced me to her close friend, who made a couple of beautiful calligraphy works for me. She is a very very kind, helpful and reliable person, our meetings were a great fun and I really enjoyed them. Thank you very much for helping me with Chinese, we must definitely meet again, no matter if in Europe or in China. Good luck to you!

Martin is a so tallllll man. He like to study Chinese and i teached him some Beijinger funny words. To me, i learned how to say thank you in Czech, good to recite. Also, to my surprise, he like latin dancing. I took him to a very small dancing clothe shop and he felt very disappointed.

We met with Legolas once and went for a walk in the centre of Beijing. After some time I asked him for help - to find the shop he mentions and to translate for me. He immediately offered me his assistance and very kindly guided me for the second time, which I'm very grateful for, my experience is 100% positive! I felt disappointed because the shop with dancing clothes was small and empty, not because Legolas would have recommended it and would have taken me there - it was me, who learned about it and wanted to go there:-)

Martin is very interesting and also a good map reader:)It seems dramatic everytime when we meet and it is really worthy of meeting him.Martin, I believe you will be here again. See you soon!

We met with Liyan twice, she showed me some places in Beijing. I shall never forget the struggle, when we were desperately trying to find each other in the crowds during our second meeting near the Olympic Stadium:-) Liyan is an immensely kind and friendly person, positive and smiling, shortly a perfect mate to hang out with. I recommend you to contact her!

Martin looks a little like Davvid Beckham in real life, trust me,hah you should meet him and see=P

He is really fast at doing things,i feel a little huilty when I am always slow down his visiting speed^^

He always smile which makes me feel happy too^^ Anna, him and I had a great time in the museum.

Then we headed to lunch,he saw our gossip ways=]giggle

He is very mature,studies hard=)

I like hanging with him and chatting with him.

I wish we guys could hang out before he leaves Beijing~~ have fun here ya

Vicky show me and her friend around the great and mighty Capital Museum in Beijing. We spent a very nice time together, checking the large museum labyrinth and having a lunch together. Vicky is very sociable, energetic and smiling person, seems also that she is interested in football:-)

Martin surfed our couch for two nights on a rainy weekend in Beijing. He is obsessed with learning languages (currently Mandarin Chinese) and makes lovely Czech pancakes. His visit inspired me to take language learning more seriously!

Haoran and her boyfriend hosted me during my stay in Beijing, on a weekend which was indeed very rainy. They are both very welcoming and pleasant people . We discussed a lot, played badminton, went out for dinner and also cooked together (instead of milk, which I needed to make Czech pancakes, I bought yogurt哈哈). I hope the sandals that we were testing together with her boyfriend for more than one hour, still serve good - I'm very satisfied with mine! Good luck to you!

Martin is an earnest, kind and sincere younger, he takes to us many interesting things, we have a good time together,my son likes him specially.Since he leaves, he sends to him every day the mail, and is anticipating his reply frequently. We hoped that he has the opportunity of studying in China again, we like him living in our family.

Staying in Fei Li's family was like being in a paradise. Her husband picked me up at the station and brought to their wonderful home with a beautiful view of the city. They treated me as a member of their family, cooked delicious meals, presented their culture and told me many interesting things about it. In case I needed help or advice, they were always ready and did their best to find a way to help me. Their son Simon is an extremely intelligent child and his English is astonishing (only 12 years old!). I wish you an amazing upcoming trip to Europe!

Had a good time hosting Martin, I appreciate his spirit to adapt into any new culture very quickly and he learns fast!

Henry, thanks for hosting me during my stay in Beijing! Thank also for all the good advice you gave to me. Hope we'll have a possibility to visit the outdoor store together!

I host martin 3 nights~he is very nice and easy-going guy~ we together go my friends exhibition opening~ and took nono(my dog)had a swimming!~ and martin so crazy to learn chinese~ everywhere ,every mins.I hope we can speak chinese when we meet next time martin~
加油!!

Ba Mor was my first host in China! She kindly waited for me till very late night hours. After a long trip I slept long, the next day I woke up and a wonderful lunch was ready. She took me to an art exhibition of her friend and even to a theater – my second day in China and I was trying to catch some Chinese words! This one for exit I learned in there: 出 :-) Dear Ba Mor, thank you for your hospitality!

This was my very first couch surfing experience! I met Martin late at night and he left quite early in the morning, but he was really nice and it was absolutely no problem having him stay over. We did have time to play some video games too! :)

I had the honor to be Fredrik's first guest. He is a very nice and attentive host, prepared a super comfortable sleeping place and showed me his video games. In the morning, Fredrik prepared a great hearty breakfast, so I was very well prepared for my next journey which was pleasant after this great rest. Thank you Fredrik!

Martin was a wonderful couchsurfer, i enjoyed having im here so much! He was very helpful and such a gentleman. we played music and sang and that was the best. he taught me some new guitar cords and i taught him a song on the balalajka. He is so smart and enthusiastic about learning lots of new things. i like that. ***** :) thank you for everything martin

Rakel is such a great and kind host. After my arrival on Friday afternoon, she did her best to show me as much as possible from the Kosta glassworks and her school (which she just finished that day). She is also a very competent and patient teacher of glass-making, Swedish language and playing balalaika:-). Last, but not least, she made me a very tasty dinner! Rakel, if you ever come to Czechia, you have to visit me, thanks for making my stay in Kosta so nice!:-)

Martin is an extremelly nice and interesting person to spend time with :) He does enjoy travelling and knows a lot of languages! I wish I could spend more time talking to him =) Thanks a lot for a chocalade! Dikí moc=)

I was looking for someone to show me around Växjö and Lena responded to my message and offered her company, although she just came back from a longer trip to Portugal. We had a very nice conversation about languages, travelling and other topics, I really enjoyed the evening. Lena, thanks for that! Спасибо большое!

Martin was a nice and very cool person. Very open and easy to host.

Dan helped me a lot in a kind of emergency situation and accepted me to his couch after my last minute request. He is really doing a lot for his guests and I felt very very comfortable in his apartment. He is a very nice, friendly and communicative person, I'll be glad to meet him again when I'm in Stockholm, hopefully for more than just one evening. Dan, thank you!

Martin met me on the railway station) was rain...cold...psy počasí) it's not a joke, but i haven't roaming or mobile) i just sent him message through CS, and he came)))...Martin showed me Brno). wonderful!!! I was in Czech at first time and i loved this country...Brno is a very nice city too. And people there very kind, open minded, sunny!
Martin is a genius! Really. He knows many languages and every free minute dedicated to some activity. He is learning esperatno and chinese. I am sure he will succeed. he is a very good guy! and a good cook. polévka byla moc dobra)))dekuju te za vsechno)

I admire Vadim for having the courage to come without roaming on his mobile phone:-) He was keen to see the city despite very bad weather, he stood up early in the morning to start sightseeing, I liked his persistency. I'm also glad I learned finally something more about Belarus. Wish you better weather on your next trips!

very interesting, hospitable and talented guy. how beautifully he pronounces ř ! ;P but you might not get the chance to hear it cause most probably he speaks your language perfectly (wherever you're from). plus great taste in movies. pozdrowienia z krakowa :)

Martin is an extremly hospitable person :) My friend and I stayed just for one day, but he showed us around and talked about suprizing stories, buildings, places in Brno. I found him out as a very helpful, kind guy; he has helped us when I've left my jacket in his place and recomended us places to hithchick. I was also impresive of his polish; Martin, good luck with learning languages :)

Anita and her friend surfed my couch for one night. They were very nice and well-organized guests (as for the forgotten jacket - to store it, I should have offered you a peg, not my wardrobe:-). They enjoy life, I appreciated their talkativeness, we had a lot of fun together, you definitely won't be bored with them!

Martin is very interested in life, in languages, in people and he is a very good host - he likes his guests and do a lot for them. Surfing at Martin's is almost like being at home, he made me feel most comfortable at his place. He has a lot of interesting stories and information to share. Hope to see you again and you are very welcome in Moscow or in Liberec!

Martin and i study in the same university in Czech Republic, and one day i got his mail asking me if i was interested in language exchange with him, and that was the beginning of our friendship... ;) He is very willing to help, smart and very patient. I'd say that he would be the type of student i surely want to teach in the future! Martin is a perfectionist (and i really like this side of him) and everything he does he is determined to do a very good job, no matter it comes to languages, physics or traveling. Martin, i wish u all the best in Chinese learning and i hope we will meet up soon again before i leave Brno!

I knew about Yu's passion for languages already before we met, it was obvious from what he wrote when we were arranging our first language tandem Czech-Chinese. He is a very positive person, clever, always in a good mood and very very helpful!! Good luck Yu, hope to see you soon again!

We were studying and living in same town but I had to travel hundreds kilometres to meet him in Italy. I regret not meeting him sooner.

Martin loves travelling and learning languages (he speaks so many languages, wow). He travels a lot, over many places, having friends all over the world. He is my big inspiration.

You will definitely enjoy his companion. He is smart, with wide range of hobbies (from travelling and languages over karate, music, dancing to physics), easy to find issue to talk about.

He is very helpful, friendly and responsible person.

Maruška, you make me feel uncomfortable with your praise! But men like it and I must shamelessly confess not to be an exception:-)

Marie is a nice, kind-hearted, amiable and very well-behaved person. And extremely clever!
She is also a woman of high principle. Once she said we wouldn't use the environmental-unfriendly plastic dishes which our common friends had brought with them and there was no way to convince her of making an exception. I still have the plates unused and unpacked in my kitchen...

You'll certainly enjoy the time spent with her, she is able to join conversation on innumerably many topics. Maruška, wish you many, many gorgeous experiences on your trips!

Martin is a very smart, kind and friendly guy. I hosted him one day, but I found out so many interesting things about studying abroad! He is also talkative, it was nice to heard Polish language from the foreigner's mouth:)
See you again!

Monika is a very nice person and was a WONDERFUL host! She and her family were very kind and helpful. Hospitality to such a degree is hard to find. I wish her all the best and look forward to seeing her in my country.

Martin and his girlfriend Elena was very good guests. Martin even prepeare Czech pancakes (in Ukrainian poultry roaster) and his student soup - both was very tasty.

Maksym hosted me during my stay in Kharkov, he was an excellent host, willing to help in every way he could. It was great to spend these days as his guest.

I hosted Martin in my place and he is a very dynamic and well organized person. I had many guests at the same time and he managed very well being indipendent. It was nice to have him and his girlfriend Lena over for these few days.

Fred hosted me for 5 days during the AEGEE EBM 2009 in Torino. We were many people living in his flat at that time. Fred is a really excellent host, always ready to advise and to help, even when he has a busy time (we were always more than 6 guests in his flat during these 5 days, moreover he was co-organizing the EBM event - with 300 participants).

I know Magda from Cracow, where we lived in the same student dormitory. We used meet quite often. She is helpful, fun to talk.

Our stay at Sushil's place was indeed memorable. He accepted our request within 20 or 30 minutes, helped us a lot as for the logistics of the journey, and picked us up at the railway station. We had a tasty dinner at his place, did a bike journey around the Pawna lake on a bike which Sushil organized from his friend, very memorable experience. Sushil himself is very friendly, polite and helpful. We had an interesting conversation over his textbook of engineering.

We had a wonderful time with Enrique!! Our visit was actually a lucky coincidence. We had a problem with our car and posted a question in the Almeria group, asking about a car serviceman. Enrique saw our post and invited us to him for the time while our car was being repaired. He lives in a very charming place, and is himself an utmost friendly and welcoming person, with warm character shaped by a 6 year stay in Brazil. Accepting him as a guest, you are guaranteed to have fun and interesting conversation. Recommended!

I met Mariam during my stay in Armenia. I got to know her as a local coordinator of TeachSurfing, in frame of which I made a lecture about language learning. She is very passionate about it, and is helping this interesting project immensely, and as a volunteer. We spend a very nice time together and I recall it very often. Mariam is a nice and kind person, fun to talk and spend time with. At the same time, she is serious and responsible as for things which matter to her. I recommend her without restriction! :-)

I can confirm with all confidence that Ivan's statement in his profile
'I'm a battery of possitive energy)))'
is true and more than true.

Hauke was my passenger during a longer journey from the Czech Republic to Hamburg. Nice guy, friendly, easy going, it was a very pleasant experience. I have no reason not to recommend him!

Tom proved himself to be very hospitable and helpful. I surfed his couch a couple of days before a work deadline, I appreciate how he understood my situation, he was very considerate. Recommended!

I met Mairita and her future husband upon my arrival in Berlin, where I spent my wonderful Erasmus year. She was one of my flatmates and together with her boyfriend surely my preferred ones, it was always a pleasure to hang out with them, to smile with them, to talk to them on no matter which day/night hour in the small kitchen of our flat. Her helpfulness, smile and good mood were a part of the great experience of new friendships and new horizons discovered that amazing year.

We spent together almost two intense weeks of intensive traveling in Siberia, most of it was hiking around lake Baikal. We were a big group of different people, sometimes this variety caused it was not easy to keep pace with the original plan or to agree on quite simple things. Such trips require certain character attributes which enable one to cope with problems that the journey brings. Natasha met these conditions perfectly and proved herself to be a wonderful travel companion, I am glad she was with us. She is a nice, cheerful and reliable person.

Tamara and her husband hosted us for two days, during which we were recovering from hiking in Sardinian mountains. We were supplied by everything we needed for sleeping, cooking and feeling well in their flat, located in the city centre. Their small daughter became a very good friend of us and brought a lot of fun into our stay. It was a pleasure to be their guests.

I couldn't have imagined that I would have a possibility to stay in such a fairytale-like couch during one of my current missions, 'Fluency in Swedish until the 12th of June'. Rolf is a marvelous host, so solicitous and thoughtful – he called me right after my last minute request to arrange my stay, later he asked about everything I could possibly need during my stay at his place. He is also an excellent teacher, I was so surprised how patient he was with me and how kindly he helped me to improve my Swedish:-) He is a phenomenal cook too, he made a nice dinner and in the morning the table was already laid with a wonderful breakfast, including home made bread. I received many book recommendations, I already started to read some, thanks for everything, Rolf!:-)

For a long time I've been looking for a Swedish language tandem partner in Brno, a relatively big city where I study. Unsuccessfully. What a big surprise it was to find one (and such a great one!) in my small hometown. We have already met a couple of times. Linnea is very friendly, joyful and energetic, it is fun to spend time with her. Despite her age she has already travelled a lot. I wish to you (and me:-) to be able to say in a couple of months: language mission accomplished, goal reached!

Xuan Gong and her roommate Liuru hosted me during the final stage of my summer stay in China.

Galina accepted me as a guest to her appartment which is located in a great spot in the centre of the city. She is a very intelligent, kind and hospitable person, providing her guests with everything they might need. She showed me her art work, explaining interesting facts about different techniques. Although we were both desperately tired, we held our conversation very long, discussing books, movies and a lot of other stuff. I enjoyed my stay very much, thank you Galina!

Gustav is a nice, highly intelligent and educated guy, thinking independently, I'm really glad I ended up in his flat during my stay in Sweden. He's able to dive deep into conversation on many different topics. It was really interesting to talk with him about languages and education. It's really too bad that I had to leave early next morning and that we could not continue our discussion, which was flowing from the very first minute I arrived. Hope to see you again, thanks!

Robin provided me with perfect lodging conditions during my stay at a physics conference in Växjö. He is a very nice and amiable person, always smiling and ready to help with anything. He made a wonderful dinner, lent me his bike, gave me many useful advice. I felt very comfortable in his flat. Robin, thank you & good luck!

Wonderful day in a wonderful traditional countryside house with wonderful people. I couldn't imagine a better ending of my one-week stay in Sweden. Johny picked me up at the railway station, showed me his workshop, smithy, took me to car racing, where his brother took part, Birgitta cooked EXCELLENT meals! And both of them told me stories from their one year long trip around the world, they are indeed experienced travelers and enthusiastic couchsurfers, I received many interesting tips on where to travel in China (where I'm currently staying). Don't hesitate any minute and contact them, they are very hospitable, lovely, polite, open-minded and super nice hosts!:-) Johnny, Birgitta, thank you!

Update after one year - I have to express yet another big thanks to them - I visited Växjö again this year and Johnny saved me one evening, when I was desperately looking for an emergency couch:-)

Erik picked me up at the railway station and made me feel at home. He was very helpful with organising my arrival in Upsalla and didn't spare any effort when I asked for an advise regarding my further trip. He showed me the city, which he knows a lot of, I really liked the tour, Erik! Thank you for your hospitality and have fun on your present journey!
