CASPAR hosted me and my wife few days in his house in Berlin. He and his girlfriend are very experienced hosts and interesting interlocutors.
Thank you for your hospitality, we will be glad to meet you again somewhere in the world and welcome to our home in Russia.
Alexey and his wife stayed with us 3 nights in Berlin. Mainly, I was impressed of their extensive travel history and having 175+ Couchsurfing reference.
We didn't connect at all. Her, I didn't hear saying 1 English word all visit. Alexey, he speaks English, he would tell about their travel experience when I tried to have a conversation. He wasn't shy to ask when he needed things. But I completely missed any intention to connect with his host, show interest in other people or engage at all on a personal level. We even spent hours in the same room with no communication at all. For the veteran Couchsurfer he is, I thought that was not how Couchsurfing should be.
That's why, personally I wouldn't host them again. Looking back, their stay was rather awkward or annoying. I am surprised if no other host had a similar experience with them.
Sadly, not a meaningful CS encounter for me.
